Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SHEQONOMI platform at sheqonomi.com, our mobile applications (iOS, Android, KaiOS, JioStore), or any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SHEQONOMI, LLC, a limited liability company, and its affiliate SHEQONOMI MENA LLC (QFC No. 03944, Doha, Qatar). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

SHEQONOMI is a women-focused digital media platform offering podcast streaming, educational content, community features, blockchain-based digital token rewards ("SHEQ Tokens"), merchandise, and related services. The Platform is available on iOS, Android, KaiOS, JioStore, and web, serving users in 195 countries across 65+ languages.

SHEQONOMI is a recipient of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Grand Prize for Innovation and is registered with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC No. 03944). The Platform operates in partnership with Reliance Jio and other global partners to deliver digital inclusion for women worldwide.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform (or 16 years of age if you are located in the EU/UK). By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. The Platform is intended for all genders but is specifically designed with women and underserved communities in mind.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at [email protected].

5. Payments & Subscriptions

Certain features require payment. All web transactions are processed securely through Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

• All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Refunds are issued at our discretion in accordance with applicable law
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice
• Promotional codes and discounts are subject to their own terms and expiration dates

6. Digital Tokens & Rewards

SHEQONOMI offers SHEQ Tokens as rewards for listening, learning, and community engagement on the Platform. By participating in the token rewards program, you agree to the following:

• SHEQ Tokens have no monetary value and are not a financial instrument, security, or currency
• Tokens are non-transferable except as explicitly permitted by the Platform
• Tokens cannot be exchanged for cash or redeemed for fiat currency
• Token balances may be adjusted, expired, or revoked at our discretion
• We reserve the right to modify the token rewards program at any time
• Blockchain transaction data recorded on a public ledger is immutable
• We are not responsible for the value, loss, or theft of any blockchain assets

7. App Store Purchases

In-app purchases made through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, KaiOS Store, or JioStore are subject to the respective platform's payment terms and refund policies in addition to ours. Specifically:

• Apple App Store: Purchases are subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple.
• Google Play Store: Purchases are subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.
• KaiOS & JioStore: Purchases are subject to the respective platform's terms for feature phone and emerging market users.

8. User Content

If you submit content to the Platform (reviews, comments, podcast submissions, community posts), you grant SHEQONOMI a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with the Platform. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm other users
• Upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or unsolicited communications
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Platform
• Manipulate or artificially inflate token rewards or engagement metrics
• Impersonate SHEQONOMI, its founders, employees, or any other person
• Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Platform

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, audio, video, software, and the SHEQONOMI brand — is the property of SHEQONOMI or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws in the United States, Qatar, and internationally. You may not use our intellectual property without prior written consent. The SHEQONOMI name, logo, and "SHEQ Tokens" are trademarks of SHEQONOMI, LLC.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including Stripe, Apple, Google, Reliance Jio, and others. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SHEQONOMI DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHEQONOMI AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SHEQONOMI IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SHEQONOMI, LLC, SHEQONOMI MENA LLC, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users accessing the Platform through SHEQONOMI MENA LLC (QFC No. 03944), the laws of the Qatar Financial Centre also apply to the extent required by QFC regulations.

16. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration in New York, NY under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

17. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately and any unused token balances will be forfeited. Sections 9–16 of these Terms survive termination.
